Santa Claus will arrive in the Youngstown area at 9 a.m. Friday via Hummer at Acordia-Wells Fargo, 8561 Market St., to kick off the Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program. Under the program, new, unwrapped toys are collected in boxes positioned in local businesses or at special events ending Dec. 22. Toys are distributed to needy children Dec. 23-24. Events at which toys will be collected are:
Nov. 7: 9 p.m., Choices Night Club, Holiday Inn MetroPlex, 1620 Motor Inn Drive, Liberty, Mix 98.9 will be collecting toys every Thursday in November. Donate a new toy and receive discounts and prizes.Dec. 5: 7 p.m., Austintown Fitch High School, 4560 Falcon Drive, Fitch jazz band and the Youngstown Area Community Concert Band will perform a concert; donate a new toy for admission.Any company that would like to schedule an event with the Marines should contact Sgt.
