MARK J. HASSETT (R)
Age: 53.

Employment: Sole practitioner since 1997; Lawyer at Thrasher, Dinsmore & amp; Dolan, 1989-1997; occasional acting judge and part-time magistrate.
Education: Bachelor's degree, Yale University; Law degree, Case Western Reserve University.
Family: Wife, Suzanne Strobel; children, Mark and Molly.
Priority: Hasten the time in which appeals court decisions are rendered.
CYNTHIA RICE (D)
Age: 41.
Home: 7428 Warren Sharon Road, Brookfield.
Employment: U.S. Assistant District Attorney; First Assistant Trumbull County Prosecutor; in private practice at Rice Law Offices, Hubbard.
Education: Bachelor's degree, Purdue University; Law degree, University of Akron Law School.
Family: Husband, Trumbull County Eastern District Court Judge Ronald Rice; three children.
Priority: Apply her legal and courtroom experience to the court of appeals.
