Funds for marina improvements OK'd



COLUMBUS -- More than $940,000 is coming for improvements at Lake Milton State Park.
The State Controlling Board approved the release of $944,957 Monday to fund improvements to the marina. An additional $96,026 was granted in contingency funds.
The project involves construction of a two-lane concrete boat launch and courtesy docks, asphalt parking areas and renovations of restrooms.
Jane Beathard, a spokeswoman for the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, said state officials are having a meeting Wednesday and hope to begin construction shortly after that. The work should be done by June.
Contracts went to Stanley Miller Construction Co. of East Sparta, general; B & amp;J Electric of North Lima, electrical; Antenucci Inc. of Warren, plumbing.
The controlling board also released $121,913 to the Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine for an unbid contract with Finite Monkey of Delaware County to buy computer equipment for the school's Optimal Health Care Delivery System for medically underserved areas of Northeast Ohio.
