YOUNGSTOWN -- North Star Patchwork Training Center, 192 Haseltine Ave., needs volunteers to help stuff dolls. Sessions will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesdays, Thursday and Fridays during November. Feeding the hungry
CANFIELD -- Dr. Lisa Provenza will conduct her fifth annual Chiropractic Feeds the Hungry Day from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Nov. 14 at the Pro Family Chiropractic Center, 3695 Boardman-Canfield Road, Suite 100. Current patients may receive a complimentary chiropractic adjustment in exchange for donating one bag of nonperishable food items. New patients may receive a complimentary consultation and examination in exchange for donation of two bags of nonperishable food items. Appointments are necessary and may be made by calling (330) 702-0500. Food donations will go to needy people in the Mahoning Valley.

EMT course
NORTH LIMA -- An emergency medical technician course will be offered at the Beaver Township fire station beginning Jan. 7. Classes will be conducted Tuesdays and Saturdays for 10 weeks. Each student must complete 120 hours of course time. Admission is limited to 12 students and is on a first-come, first-pay basis. The cost of the course, including the text book, is $525.
