Lawrence Co. Prison Board will seek a new jail warden

NEW CASTLE, Pa. -- The Lawrence County Prison Board is expected to meet today to talk about finding a new jail warden. Prison Board President Brian Burick said the meeting will not be open to the public because it involves personnel.
County officials are searching for a permanent replacement for warden William Hall, who resigned unexpectedly last week. Deputy Warden Norman Micco is performing Hall's duties until a new warden is named.
Burick said he wants to gauge other prison board members about the search for the new warden at today's meeting.
The group may not meet publicly again until the regularly scheduled prison board meeting Nov. 13, he said.
Hall, 46, resigned last Thursday by submitting a letter to the prison board. County officials said he resigned for personal reasons.
Hall will remain on the county payroll for about another 20 days for unused sick and vacation days. He had worked as warden since 1993.
