Vice squad arrests 2 in city raids



YOUNGSTOWN -- City vice squad members made two arrests during search warrant raids on the North and South sides.
Nathanial McKinney, 22, of Tacoma Avenue, was arrested on felony charges of trafficking marijuana, trafficking Oxycontin, two counts of drug abuse crack cocaine, possession of a dangerous weapon and carrying a weapon by a convicted felon.
City police said McKinney was arrested as he left a Saranac Avenue home at about 3:25 p.m. Friday.
Officers searching his pockets reported finding three small bags of suspected marijuana, a bag with 17 suspected Oxycontin prescription pain pills and $407.
In the Saranac Avenue home, an officer found a loaded handgun and a large rock of suspected crack cocaine, police reports show. During a search of McKinney's Tacoma Avenue home, officers reported finding an assault rifle, loaded magazine and an ounce of suspected crack cocaine in his bedroom.
Nathan McKenzie, 22, of Catalina Avenue, was arrested on felony trafficking in cocaine at about 5:50 p.m. Friday when officers found him hiding in the attic of a West Woodland Avenue home, city police reports show.
Officers reported finding a loaded handgun and 18 individually packaged rocks of suspected crack cocaine hidden in a hole in the attic ceiling.
