SMALL COLLEGES Walsh pummels Taylor; Westminster wins, 13-10
Allegheny, Geneva, Grove City and Malone lost.
NORTH CANTON -- Winston Woods threw four touchdown passes, tying a school record, as Walsh beat Taylor 55-0 on Saturday.
Woods was 7-of-11 passing for 174 yards for the Cavaliers (6-1, 2-1 Mid-States Football Association). He was intercepted once.
Raphael Worthy caught a 26-yard scoring pass and ran for two scores, including a 56-yard TD in the third quarter to make it 48-0.
Chris Brink caught TD passes of 80 yards in the second quarter and 8 yards in the third.
Walsh piled up 552 yards total offense to 210 for the Trojans (2-5, 0-3).
Jeff Walton finished 11-for-17 passing for 68 yards and an interception to lead Taylor.
Westminster 13, Thiel 10
GREENVILLE, Pa. -- Ryan Mitchell scored on a 1-yard run with 2:37 left in the game to help the Titans win.
Thiel (3-4, 2-2 Presidents' Athletic Conference) was held scoreless until the fourth quarter before Paul Stibich kicked a 42-yard field goal and Justin Napotnik scored on a 24-yard run to give Thiel a 10-6 lead with 6:10 left in the game.
Sean Buggey returned the ensuing kickoff 61 yards for Westminster (4-2, 2-1), to set up the game-winning eight-play, 39-yard drive that ended with Mitchell's touchdown run.
On Thiel's next possession Joe Stern intercepted Tom McIntire's fourth-and-21 pass and Westminster ran out the clock for the victory.
Josh Simpson staked Westminster to a 3-0 halftime lead with a 28-yard field goal and added another from 43 yards midway through the third quarter before Thiel's comeback.

MEADVILLE, Pa. -- Tony Sutton ran for 204 yards and two touchdowns to lead Wooster.
Wooster (6-0, 3-0 North Coast Athletic Conference) also got a 64-yard punt return touchdown from Nick Hajjar.
Allegheny (2-4, 1-2) opened the scoring on a 3-yard pass from Bubba Smith to Luke Pelger with six minutes left in the first quarter.
Smith struggled and finished the day 10-for-24 for 82 yards and three interceptions.
Hajjar's punt return in the second quarter tied the game 7-7 at the half.
After a scoreless third quarter, Sutton ran 3-yards to cap a 10-play, 61-yard scoring drive with 9:06 left in the game.
Sutton's second scoring run of 20 yards capped an eight-play, 44-yard drive less than six minutes later.

HIRAM -- Greg Cornett threw three touchdown passes -- two to Jered Glover -- and Andy Dooley ran for three scores as Wittenberg shutout Hiram.
Adam Hewitt also scored twice for the Tigers (5-1, 2-1 North Coast Conference), on runs of 2 and 10 yards.
Cornett completed 9-of-11 passes for 160 yards and had TD passes covering 6 and 44 yards to Glover and 19 yards to Skip Ivery.
Dooley ran for 134 yards on 19 carries and had touchdown runs of 6, 1 and 1 yards.
Hewitt rushed for 45 yards on six carries and scored on runs of 2 and 10 yards.
On its homecoming, Hiram (0-6, 0-3) was outgained 587-86.
Mike Freeman returned a punt 54 yards for Wittenberg's first touchdown.
Waynesburg 30, Grove City 24
WAYNESBURG, Pa. -- Jeff Dumm threw for 350 yards and four touchdowns to pace Waynesburg.
Grove City (2-5, 1-3 Presidents' Athletic Conference) managed just 87 yards passing on a 10-for-19 performance by Todd Smargiasso.
Dumm threw three interceptions but more often was connecting on long gainers for Waynesburg (4-2, 2-1), completing 28 of 41 passes.
Waynesburg opened the scoring on Dumm's 28-yard pass to Ivan Hawkins early in the first quarter.
Grove City regained the lead on a 7-yard run by Steve Roberts and a 19-yard Mike Titzel field goal.
Roberts would finish with 87 yards on 16 carries to lead all rushers.
Waynesburg tied the game just before halftime on Brian Cence's 21-yard field goal before taking control in the third quarter.
Dumm hit Jake Marcoux and Dominick Hunter on scoring passes of 7 and 14 yards to open the second half, before Mark Byrer caught the first of two Smargiasso touchdown passes early in the fourth quarter to cut Waynesburg's lead to 22-17.
Dumm passed 51 yards to Paul D'Imperio, then hit D'Imperio for the two-point conversion to make the score 30-17 with 7:39 left in the game.
Smargiasso hit Bo Danton on a 2-yard score with 1:37 left for the final margin.

Garver passed 15 yards to Mike Rieck for a score in the first quarter for Thomas More (4-2).
Malone (3-3) tied it before the half when Joel Peterson ran 1 yard for a touchdown.
Peterson led Malone with 14 carries for 28 yards.

Josh Mullen ran for a 1-yard touchdown for Geneva (3-4, 1-2). Kelly Lennox led Geneva with 10 carries for 72 yards.

CRAWFORDSVILLE, Ind. -- Chris Morris rushed for 211 yards on 25 carries as Wabash beat Ohio Wesleyan.
Morris scored on an 18-yard run to end the first quarter. The Little Giants (6-0, 4-0 North Coast Atlantic Conference) extended the lead to 21-0 in the third quarter on Brandon Roop's 1-yard touchdown run and Jake Knott's 26-yard pass to Matt Piechocki.
Case Reserve 42, Carnegie Mellon 35
CLEVELAND -- Brandon McDowell rushed for 168 yards on 42 carries and scored a touchdown with 18 seconds to play as Case Reserve won.
Eli Grant threw for 249 yards and three touchdowns and ran for another touchdown for the Spartans (4-2, 1-0 University Athletic).
The Spartans had a 28-14 lead entering the fourth. After the Tartans (3-3, 0-1 UAA) scored twice in the first five minutes of the quarter, Scott Carroll recovered a fumble to make it 35-28.
