Buy a pumpkin and help the March of Dimes

BOARDMAN -- Build a paper pumpkin patch for the benefit of the March of Dimes Birth Defects Foundation. The fund-raiser is planned Wednesday through Oct. 26 at Southern Park Mall.
Mall walkers, customers and merchants are invited to participate in the event whose proceeds will be toward improving the health of babies and preventing infant mortality.
Free coffee and doughnuts, provided by Buttermaid and Schwebel bakeries, will be offered from 9 to 10 a.m. during the days of the fund-raiser.
Oct. 26 will include an auction of items from gift baskets to restaurant certificates. Those who buy a pumpkin will be entered in a drawing for a grand prize. Volunteers will sell pumpkins at various times during the days of the fund-raiser and during mall hours Oct. 26.
