CLEVELAND -- "Why I Am a Catholic" will be presented by Garry Wills as part of John Carroll's Cardinal Suenens program at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the D.J. Lombardo Student Center at John Carroll University.
Wills, a Northwestern University professor and Pulitzer Prize winner, will be discussing his new book -- with the identical title of his talk -- which explains his faith after the publication of his previous and controversial best seller "Papal Sin."

Cornerstone service
GIRARD -- Girard First United Methodist Church will have a special Cornerstone Celebration service at 10:45 a.m. Sunday to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the laying of the sanctuary's cornerstone.
Interfaith program
YOUNGSTOWN -- World Community Day will be observed with the theme "Daughters of Abraham: Called to Peace" at 10 a.m. Nov. 1 at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church.
The event is sponsored by Church Women United, an ecumenical movement of Christian women in the United States who have invited their Jewish and Muslim sisters to pray for peace and freedom for God's children.

Flame Fellowship
BOARDMAN -- The Youngstown chapter of Flame Fellowship will meet Monday at the Georgeanna Parker Activity Center in Boardman Park.

Christian Science talk
WARREN -- Barbara Fife of Vancouver, Canada, will lead an interactive talk at 2:30 p.m. Nov. 3 at Butler Institute of American Art Trumbull Branch.
The topic will be "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy."
The event is sponsored by First Church of Christ, Scientist in both Warren and Youngstown.
Pastor to speak
YOUNGSTOWN -- Pastor Dwight Dumas, senior pastor of Fifth Avenue Community Church, and former executive director of the Greater Youngstown Coalition of Christians, will speak Sunday as part of weekend events in Atlantic City, N.J.
The pastor will attend with men from the Washington, Pa., area whom he has mentored on reconciliation.
The special guest speaker for today's breakfast is Adolph Coors IV, the great-grandson of Herman Joseph Coors, founder of the Adolph Coors Company in Golden, Colo.
Pastor Dumas will give the follow-up address Sunday in Grace Assembly of God. Pastor Dumas has also scheduled a community breakfast with Adolph Coors IV for Youngstown in September 2003.
