Credit-card fraud: A man in the 10 block of Cheyenne Drive reported someone fraudulently used his Discover card to purchase more than $1,000 worth of airline tickets.
Assault: A man reported someone assaulted him in a parking lot at Woody's Bar and Grill, 718 N. State St.
Oct. 13
Attempted theft: Several employees at Indalex, 710 S. State St., said they noticed a man trying to steal several bars of steel from the business.
Attempted breaking and entering: A woman in the 40 block of West Liberty Street discovered someone tried to break into her apartment. A door frame was broken and pried open.
Breaking and entering: Nothing was missing from a residence in the 200 block of East Wilson Avenue after someone broke in through a rear porch window.

Theft: A man reported his cellular phone stolen from a residence on Smithsonian Street.
