GIRLS TENNIS | State tournament

When: Friday-Saturday. Matches begin at 9 a.m.
Where: Stickney Tennis Center, Ohio State University
Cost: $6 per day.
Area singles qualifier: Division I -- Renee Lesnett (Canfield).
Area doubles qualifiers: Div. I -- Gina Peretti-Stephanie Berry (Boardman); Div. II -- Erin Bennett-Stephanie Kobuch (Poland).
Notebook: This is the third straight trip to the state tournament for seniors Peretti and Berry, who won last week's Div. I district title and finished third in the state last year. They lost in the first round in 2000. Lesnett, a freshman, placed third in last week's district tournament. Bennett and Kobuch lost twice in last week's Div. II district tournament, but advanced as the fourth seed.
If you go: Take I-76 West to I-71 South to I-270 West to St. Rt. 315 to the Ackerman Road exit and head west. Turn right on Olentangy River Road. The tennis center is less than a mile away.
