Ghost Walk scares up new material

Groups leave from the church about every 10 minutes.
WARREN -- The ghosts of Trumbull County's past will return to historical downtown Warren Oct. 18-19 and Oct. 25-26.
Ghost Walk is presented by the Fine Arts Council of Trumbull County, Trumbull County Historical Society and Trumbull New Theatre.
At Ghost Walk, tour groups leave from First Presbyterian Church, 256 Mahoning Ave., about every 10 minutes. They're guided to mansions and the pioneer cemetery along Mahoning Avenue where costumed actors and actresses re-enact true stories about the county's past.
The walking tour is intended for people of all ages. Walks begin at 6:30 p.m. with the last group leaving at 9 p.m. Groups of 15 or more are encouraged to call in advance.
Tickets are limited and advance sales are encouraged. Pre-sale tickets are $4 for adults and $2 for children younger than 16. Call FACT at (330) 399-1212 or the Trumbull County Convention and Visitors Bureau at (800) 672-9555 for a ticket order form. Prices increase to $6 for adults and $3 for children the day of the event.
New stories
This year, Ghost Walk will present two new stories.
"To keep the walk interesting for our audiences, the theater has done some research and has found new material for our actors," TNT's Terri Gilbert said in a news release. "This year's stories will offer a glimpse into how life was for the early settlers of Trumbull County."
On Oct. 18, anyone with a library card from any library in Trumbull County may present their card at the on-site ticket window and buy Ghost Walk tickets at the pre-sale price.
Another event, Oct. 26, is a tour with an American Sign Language interpreter. The tour will leave from the church at 6:30 p.m. Reservations must be made. For TTY/TDD, use Ohio Relay Service at (800) 750-0750 for reservations.
Buffet
The historical society will sponsor a Spirits Buffet Oct. 18 and Oct. 25 at the John Stark Edwards House. To make reservations for dinner prior to proceeding on the Ghost Walk, call the historical society at (330) 394-4653.
