COLUMBIANA CORNER Election board members pick Mary in a landslide

There's something about Mary when it comes to Columbiana County election board members.
The wives of three of the four panel members are named Mary or close to it, John Payne, election board director, noted recently.
Married to "Marys" are members Dr. Anthony Rich and newly appointed member Alfred Fricano, Payne said.
Member Dennis Johnson's wife's name is Marion.
Former board member G. Allen Dickey, who died in August, left behind his wife, whose name also is Mary.
Library volume: Lisa Rohrbaugh, director of the East Palestine Memorial Public Library, believes libraries should be patron-friendly, but not silent.
Rohrbaugh said there are study areas for those who seek solace and silence, and the library staff manages to keep general noise at tolerable levels.
Rohrbaugh said, however, that a silent library is one that isn't being used. She said when patrons complain about noise or apologize for it, she reminds them that "This is a library, not a cemetery."
