Springfield eclipses W. Reserve, 28-6



BERLIN CENTER -- Dan Schuler tossed three touchdown passes and Jonathan Vivo eclipsed 100 yards as the Springfield High football team defeated Western Reserve 28-6 Friday.
Schuler, who was 7 of 10 for 113 yards, had scoring passes of 25 yards to Seth Sarty, 4 to Aaron Wood and 19 to Anthony Terlecky. Tobey Culler also had two catches for 63 yards.
Vivo rushed for 135 yards on 22 carries and a touchdown for Springfield (5-3, 4-1 Inter-County League).
Western Reserve (2-6, 0-5) was led by Luke Srock with 99 yards on 26 carries and a touchdown. Chris Mountain had four catches for 48 yards.
South Range 24, McDonald 0
McDONALD -- Brian Novak, Jed Chismar and Ben Johnston ran for touchdowns, while Jon Styer kicked a 15-yard field goal and three extra points for the Raiders (5-3, 3-2).
Chismar had 104 yards on 12 carries, while Novak totaled 82 yards after eight carries.
Of Range's 322 yards, 256 were via run.
McDonald (3-5, 2-3) gained 165 yards on the ground and 32 passing for 197 total.
Senior fullback Greg Gustovich gained 29 yards on 10 carries for the Blue Devils.
