Salem dominates MAC
Boardman clinched the Steel Valley Conference crown by beating Warren Harding.
SALEM -- Tiffany Heestand had seven kills and an ace as she helped the Salem High girls volleyball team top Poland 15-4, 15-6, clinching the Metro Athletic Conference title Tuesday in John Cabas gymnasium.
The Quakers (17-4, 9-0) have never lost a MAC Conference championship, winning eight in a row.
Lauren Teal had four kills, one tip and one block. Kelly Crouse had an ace, four kills and a block and Megan Sampson had three aces and two kills.
Dee Maransky led the Bulldogs (14-6, 7-3) with four kills, three aces and four assists.
Struthers 15-15, Niles 11-12
NILES -- Jerlyn Walsh had six points and two digs while Jacquie Trevis had four kills for the Wildcats (10-10).
For Niles (3-15, 1-11 Metro Athletic Conference), Stacia Ray scored eight points and Ashley Byrom had four digs.
Howland 15-12-16, Canfield 12-15-14
HOWLAND -- Jaime Kelly collected five points, two aces, 12 kills and 12 blocks and Brittany Kelly tacked on 12 points, two aces, five kills and 14 assists for the Tigers (10-8, 5-5 MAC).
Also for the Tigers, Bronlyn Salo had 20 assists.
Boardman 15-15, Warren Harding 0-3
BOARDMAN -- Whitney Tressel had 10 points and three assists as the Spartans (18-3, 7-0) clinched the Steel Valley Conference title.
Lauren Craig had five kills and two blocks and Krysta Sylvester had seven points and two kills.
Sharina Freeman led the Raiders (5-13, 2-5) with two points and three blocks.
Ursuline 16-15, Mooney 14-8
YOUNGSTOWN -- Lauren Reinhardt had six kills, Jen Marsco scored 15 points and Jes LaRosa had six digs for the Irish (5-11, 2-4 SVC).
Danielle Daltorio collected six points and 14 digs while April Ruse had 12 hits and two kills for Mooney (3-15, 1-6).

AUSTINTOWN -- Maggie Case paced the Falcons (26-4) with 15 points, 14 kills, seven blocks, two aces and 17 digs. Rachel Terzak had seven points, seven kills, two blocks and six digs.

BERLIN CENTER -- Dariana Casado collected 13 kills and two blocks while Jenna Hinks had eight kills and Larossa Proud had 16 points and three aces for the Rams (14-7, 8-4 Inter-County League).
For the Blue Devils (14-8, 8-4), Jen White was in with nine points, three aces and two kills while Katie Harmon had seven points and a pair of aces.
Springfield 15-15, Jackson-Milton 8-10
NEW MIDDLETOWN -- Erika Stamm scored six points, with 17 sets and six digs for the Tigers (11-7, 6-5 ICL). Shauna Durig had 10 kills and six blocks.
Lakeview 15-15, Brookfield 7-4
CORTLAND -- Megan Taylor paced the Bulldogs (16-4, 12-2 Trumbull Athletic Conference) with 15 points, two aces and seven digs. Whitney Keyser had 11 kills and five digs. Heidi Kracker had seven kills.
Regina Deramo led the Warriors (10-8, 8-6) with 10 digs and five assists. Rachel Pasquerilla had four points and an ace.
Crestview 15-15, Southern 2-11
COLUMBIANA -- Abbey Fristik scored eight points, with five aces, five kills and three digs for the Rebels (18-3). Kelly Simmons had five points, six digs, three kills and an ace. Jenna Hazelton led the Indians (0-18) with three points, two aces and three kills. Britnie Lutz had 22 sets.
