LIBERTY \ School board

Highlights of Tuesday's Liberty Board of Education meeting:
Approved the fiscal 2003 permanent appropriations of nearly $17.8 million. This is a slight increase over the 2002 budget.
Tabled a recommendation by district treasurer Tracey Obermiyer to enter into a five-year, $53,610 contract with Tremco Corp. of Chardon for maintenance on most district building roofs. Board member William Beinecke said the board had some unresolved questions that need answered. Obermiyer said other companies have provided unsatisfactory work.
Entered into a $683,000 contract with the Trumbull County Service Center for fiscal 2003. The center provides special education programs that would cost more, Obermiyer explained, if the district provided the teachers and programs.
Approved supplemental contracts for Ryan Williams, assistant wrestling coach, $2,906 for the season; Marc Morgan, assistant girls basketball coach, $3,183; Christopher Waltz, head volleyball coach, $3,044; Heather Smith, assistant volleyball coach, $1,937.
Authorized the use of district facilities for the Relay for Life March 30 and 31, 2003.
