2 charged in sales of tobacco to teens

YOUNGSTOWN -- Police charged clerks at two convenience stores with selling tobacco products to minors after underage buyers succeeded in buying cigarettes.
Police charged a 27-year-old man employed at Sami Quick Stop, 2204 Market St., after he sold a pack of cigarettes to a 16-year-old around 8 a.m. Wednesday and a 51-year-old man employed at Schenley Carryout, 2725 Mahoning Ave., after he sold a pack to a 16-year-old around 5:30 p.m. Wednesday. Both purchases were made at the drive-throughs.
