Neshannock officials pick records contact

Thursday, November 21, 2002

NEW CASTLE, Pa. -- Neshannock Township supervisors designated township Secretary Leslie Bucci the contact person for public records requests. A recent state law required the township to name a contact person.
Anyone wanting a copy of public records will be required to contact Bucci and fill out a form. The information can be picked up, mailed or faxed, officials said. A fee of 25 cents per page will be charged for copies. Prepayment will be necessary for copies if the bill for copying will exceed $100, supervisors said. Certified documents will cost $2.
In other business at their meeting Wednesday, supervisors approved a request from Police Superintendent Phillip Carlo to post the position of a police lieutenant in the township.
The lieutenant would be second in command under Carlo. Supervisor Chairman Gale Measel said that the lieutenant would be selected among officers on the force.
According to Bucci, the township had a police lieutenant in the late 1980s under Police Chief James Reed.
Supervisors announced they will introduce the township's proposed 2003 budget at their Dec. 4 meeting.
