Naval War College
Navy Reserve Capt. Chuck Christoph has completed the two-week Reserve Officer Joint Military Operations Planning course at the Naval War College, Newport, R.I.
Christoph is commander of Reserve Intelligence Area 4, San Diego. He is the son of Edward C. Christoph of Erie, Pa., and his wife, Janet, is the daughter of David E. and Jean Walter of Grove City, Pa.
Unit supply specialists
Army Reserve Pvt. Patrick M. Betteridge, Pfc. Emily E. Carroll and National Guard Pfc. Sarah R. Bolyard have graduated from the unit supply specialist advanced individual training course at Fort Lee, Va.
Bolyard is the daughter of Chuck R. and Becky R. Bolyard of Mercer, Pa., and is a 2001 graduate of Mercer Area Junior Senior High School.
Carroll is the daughter of Jeanette E. and stepdaughter of Ray N. Bare of Berlin Center and is a 2000 graduate of Western Reserve High School, Berlin Center.
Betteridge is the son of Michael B. and Shelley R. Betteridge of Champion and is a 2000 graduate of Champion High School.
Financial management
Air Force Reserve Senior Airman Kimberly A. Hawthorne graduated from the financial management apprentice course at Sheppard Air Force Base, Texas.
She is assigned to the 910th Airlift Wing at Youngstown Air Reserve Station in Vienna. Hawthorne is the daughter of Vester M. and Jacklyn M. Mixon of Austintown. She graduated in 1989 from Austintown Fitch High School and received an associate degree in 1999 from the Community College of the Air Force.
Vehicle maintenance
Army Pvt. Michael J. Yurchison, son of Michael C. Yurchison of Poland and Cheryl DeBow of New Middletown, graduated from the 14-week Bradley Fighting Vehicle Maintenance Course at Fort Knox, Ky.
He is home on leave now but will leave Nov. 19 for Germany. He attended Springfield Local High School, New Middletown.

Second lieutenant
Air Force Reserve 2nd Lt. Scott J. Julian graduated from the six-week Air National Guard Academy of Military Science at McGhee Tyson Air National Guard Base, Tenn., where he was commissioned a second lieutenant.
He is an executive officer assigned to the 910th Airlift Wing at Youngstown Air Reserve Station, Vienna.
Julian is the son of Chief Master Sgt. Mary L. Julian and stepson of Chief Master Sgt. Robert V. Glus of Cortland. His father, Vincent E. Julian, lives in Canfield. He graduated in 1995 from Liberty High School and received a bachelor's degree from Youngstown State University in 2000.
Lance corporal
Marine Corps Lance Cpl. Carl D. Nelson Jr., son of Cassandra L. and Carl D. Nelson of Niles, was promoted to his current rank while serving with Headquarters Battalion, 2nd Marine Division, Marine Corps Base, Camp Lejeune, N.C. He is a 1998 graduate of Niles McKinley High School.
HONORS
Achievement medal
Army Pfc. Dorothy M. Robinson has been decorated with the Army Achievement Medal, awarded to members of the Army who distinguish themselves by meritorious service or achievement while serving in a noncombat area. Robinson is a unit supply specialist assigned to the 1st Battalion, 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment at Fort Irwin, Barstow, Calif. She is the daughter of Sheila R. Gardner of Farrell, Pa., and her husband, Billie, is the son of Billie R. and Betty D. Robinson of Farrell. Robinson is a 1999 graduate of Farrell High School.
REUNIONS
