Stoudt, Zordichare guest coaches
YOUNGSTOWN -- Former YSU quarterback Cliff Stoudt and former NFL standout Mike Zordich will serve as guest coaches the Youngstown State's skills camp for quarterbacks, wide receivers and defensive backs, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on June 12 at Stambaugh Stadium.

Katie Krupko, track,x-country recruit
YOUNGSTOWN -- Katie Krupko, a senior distance runner at Marlington High, will continue her track and cross country career at YSU. She is a two-time All-Northeastern Buckeye Conference selection, an all-county selection and advanced to state in cross country the past two years. She holds a 4.0 grade point average and is ranked first in her class of 197.

Poland on the air
STRUTHERS -- Radio station WBBW-AM 1240 will broadcast today's Division II regional baseball game between Poland and Tallmadge at Cene Park.
John Caparanis and Bob Gavalier will go on the air at 1:45 p.m.
If Poland wins, WBBW will carry Saturday's regional final.
Scrappers' fan fest
NILES -- The Mahoning Valley Scrappers will hold a "Fan Fest" from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Cafaro Field. Game tickets will be on sale and anyone who buys $50 in tickets will receive a pass to take batting practice.

Malone coachLooney resigns
CANTON -- Malone College softball coach Sharon Looney resigned her position as head of the 11-year program to focus on a full-time teaching position. Looney's teams posted a 23-17 record this past season including 17-11 in the AMC. Her two-year mark was 50-34 (34-18 AMC).
Sixth-grader dies
GETTYSBURG, Pa. -- A 12-year-old Adams County boy playing floor hockey ran into a school gymnasium wall, hit his head and died two hours later, officials said.
Anthony J. Morales, a sixth-grader at New Oxford Middle School, was playing in the auxiliary gym Wednesday when he ran into the padded wall and went into cardiac arrest, said John Spangler, superintendent of Conewago Valley School District.

Deal delayed
ST. PAUL, Minn. -- A deal guaranteeing the Twins will play in Minnesota next year probably won't be finalized until at least next week.
Attorneys for the Metropolitan Sports Facilities Commission, the Twins and major league baseball are close to a settlement that would resolve a lawsuit and preserve the Twins for 2003.
Two Padres out
SAN DIEGO -- The struggling San Diego Padres learned that third basemen Phil Nevin and Sean Burroughs will each miss significant time because of arm and shoulder injuries.
Nevin has a broken left arm and is expected to be out six weeks, and Burroughs, a rookie who was benched in favor of Nevin on Monday, has a slight tear in his right rotator cuff and will be out 3-to-4 weeks.
Rose admitshe took money
DETROIT -- Former Michigan guard Jalen Rose, now with the Chicago Bulls, said he took some money from a former booster of the school who pleaded guilty earlier this week to a federal conspiracy charge.
Rose, who was drafted out of Michigan in 1994, told Fox Sports Net that Ed Martin gave him pocket money.

Montgomerie falters
WOBURN, England -- Colin Montgomerie, playing despite a back injury, shot a 2-under-par 70 in windy conditions to fall five stroke behind in the British Masters.
Santiago Luna of Spain and Robert-Jan Derksen of the Netherlands shared the first-round lead at 5-under 67.
