George Allenwins at Mill Creek
YOUNGSTOWN -- The first Mill Creek Amateur stroke play tournament was won by George Allen of Warren Saturday at the South Course at Mill Creek Golf Course.
Allen shot 8-under-par 64 for a seven-shot cushion over runner-up Mike Scarsella.
Allen received a $500 gift certificate from the Mill Creek Pro Shop and Scarsella received a $350 gift certificate.
Jim Perry and Jason Sanker tied for third with even-par rounds of 72, while another stroke back at 73 were John Zebrosky and Jack Pico.
Seven golfers finished tied at 74: Mike Bosio, Troy Levery, Scott Porter, Greg Porter, Dick Marlowe, Jason Kokrak and Jonah Karzmer. The final spot in the money was 75 shot by Dave Kondich, PJ Delcourt, John Horsky and John Scarsella Sr.
Closest to the pin winners were Brad Zabel (5), Jim Vetica (7), Mike Scarsella (13) and Jim Perry (17).

VIENNA -- The Giant Eagle LPGA Classic received its first field list from the LPGA Tour last week. The field includes seven of the top 10 money leaders and 80 of the top 100.

NORWICH, Conn. -- Pinch hitter Jason Kinchen capped a three-run seventh inning rally by walking with the bases loaded as the Norwich Navigators beat the Akron Aeros 6-5 Sunday in the Eastern League.
Man stabbed inraceway riot
MOUNT MORRIS, Pa. -- A West Virginia man was stabbed and 41 others were arrested during a melee at a motorcycle raceway in southwestern Pennsylvania, state police said.
The crowd at the High Point Raceway in Mount Morris, Greene County, turned violent around 10:30 p.m. Saturday, according to police reports. State police said it took as many as 65 troopers to break up the fighting.
State police at Waynesburg said it was not clear what may have sparked the violence, although many people were drinking. Those arrested range in age from 17 to 35, police said.
Nathan Tice, of Newell, W.Va., was in stable condition at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, W.Va., hospital officials said.

Davis outpointsTerrance Lewis
LAS VEGAS -- Robert Davis outpointed Terrance Lewis by unanimous decision Saturday in their 10-round heavyweight match at the Las Vegas Hilton. There were no knockdowns.
Davis of Akron, took the last three rounds from a tiring Lewis of Philadelphia, avenging a loss to Lewis May 22, 2001, in San Francisco. In that fight, a ninth-round knockout erased Davis' lead on the judges' cards.
Davis improved to 27-4 with 15 knockouts.
The 236-pound Lewis, eight pounds heavier than Davis, fell to 30-12 with 20 knockouts.
Princeton, Syracuseto play for title
PISCATAWAY, N.J. -- There's a new Memorial Day tradition: Princeton and Syracuse playing for the NCAA lacrosse championship.
The schools, which have combined to win 12 of the last 14 titles, will meet for their third straight championship game today at Rutgers.
Zach Herbert had four goals and three assists as Middlebury beat Gettysburg 14-9 Sunday to claim its third straight NCAA Division III lacrosse championship.
