Authorities jail man in fatal stabbing

WARREN -- Police plan to file charges Tuesday against a city man in a stabbing death over the weekend.
Kevin V. Jones, 45, 2464 Milton St. S.E., is being held in Trumbull County Jail after voluntarily appearing Saturday afternoon for questioning in the death of Johnny "J.B." Barnes, 42, said Sgt. Richard McAllise.
Barnes, who had been released from jail Wednesday after serving time for a parole violation, was found dead by a passer-by at 6 a.m. Saturday outside a home at 1456 Tod Ave. S.W.
Preliminary reports show Barnes was stabbed and died around 11 p.m. Friday. Police had no details on the weapon used or how many times or where Barnes was stabbed. He was pronounced dead on arrival at Forum Health Trumbull Memorial Hospital.
Barnes' address has not been confirmed by police, but reports show witnesses say he was staying at a home at 1510 Tod Ave. S.W. after his release from jail.
McAllise said there was an apparent disagreement between the two men, but no details were available.
Jones arrived at the station around 1 p.m. Saturday for questioning, McAllise said, and was taken into custody then. McAllise could not say what charges will be filed Tuesday.
