DIV. IV BASEBALL Western Reserve wins sectional opener, 6-5

Lowellville's Nick Getsy threw a one-hitter and the Rockets' offense was in high gear against Leetonia.
BERLIN CENTER -- Luke Srock and Nick Sanders each hit two-run singles as the Western Reserve High baseball team, staked to a 5-1 lead after two innings, held on for a 6-5 victory of Mogadore Tuesday in a Division IV sectional tournament game.
Second-seeded Western Reserve (17-6) will play host to Dalton next Tuesday.
Ben Martin and winning pitcher Brandon Keck (6-1) each had two hits, with a double apiece, for the Blue Devils.
Mogadore scored a run and loaded the bases with one out in the bottom of the seventh inning before Western Reserve turned a double play to end the threat.
Mineral Ridge 3, Mathews 2: MINERAL RIDGE -- Mineral Ridge scored the winning runs in the top of the sixth inning.
With the Rams (10-12) trailing 2-0, Brandon Linert hit a two-run double, and the other run came home on a throwing error as they advanced to play at Southington next Tuesday.
Nathan Zimmerman got the win for Mineral Ridge. In a losing effort, Mathews pitcher Anthony Jones had 15 strikeouts and one walk. The Mustangs' Adam Englebaugh had two hits.
Lowellville 10, Leetonia 0: STRUTHERS -- Nick Getsy threw a one-hit shutout and Lowellville's offense was in high gear in the five-inning victory.
Steve Pinciaro tripled and singled and Nick Pope added two singles for the Rockets (2-13), who will play host to South Range next Tuesday.
McDonald 10, Lordstown 0: LORDSTOWN -- Mark Brown hit a two-run homer and collected three RBIs in the five-inning game.
McDonald (8-10) will play at top-seeded Windham next Tuesday.
Ken McKay had a single and a double, while Mike VanDyke had two hits for McDonald. Josh Camuso (4-3) limited Lordstown (1-9) to three singles.
