RENOVATIONS
Jamestown
The Jamestown Area School Board is considering high school renovations and expansions that could cost $7.5 million. Plans aren't final yet, but preliminary discussions center around:
PHASE 1
Estimated cost: $900,000.Limited classroom renovations.Three new science labs.Building security improvements that would redesign the main entrance to allow district personnel to remotely control building access.
PHASE 2
Estimated cost: $6.5 million.Convert the cafeteria and kitchen into a library/media center.Add a new cafeteria and kitchen.Add a large group instruction room.Add a new gym and stage, so it can double as an auditorium.
