MERCER, PA. Man will serve time for break-in case

Damage at the dealership exceeded $5,000.
MERCER, Pa. -- A local man will spend up to five years in prison for breaking into a car dealership with a juvenile in December 2000.
Judge Michael Wherry of Mercer County Common Pleas Court sentenced David Lingenfelter, 27, of Lamor Road, to six months for criminal trespassing and nine to 60 months for corruption of a minor. The sentences will be served at the same time.
On New Year's Eve, Lingenfelter picked up a 16-year-old boy and gave him beer as they rode around. He then took the boy with him to Snyder Pontiac Buick GMC on state Route 19 in Coolspring Township.
Lingenfelter broke a window to gain entry, then damaged numerous items, including computers, a popcorn machine and a television. Damage was estimated at more than $5,000.
He also took $300 from a desk drawer.
According to police reports, he left the dealership without telling the youth, who began walking home drunk.
A jury found Lingenfelter guilty in March of felony criminal trespass, corruption of minors and furnishing alcohol to minors.
Other sentencing
Denise Root, 20, of Maple Drive, Greenville, was sentenced to two years each for theft and criminal trespassing, also to be served at the same time.
She was also ordered to pay $400 in restitution.
She entered a Hofius Lane residence Sept. 24 and took items worth more than $200, including several Barbie dolls, a waterfall device, a coffeepot and a ceramic pig.
