SHARON No cost to visit hall

SHARON, Pa. -- It's still free to get into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame & amp; Museum at 98 E. State St.
The hall offered free admissions last weekend and drew nearly 500 visitors, said Bob Crosby, director.
He decided to try it again this week, starting today, the official reopening of the hall for the season.
"This is a national treasure. We've got to get people in here," Crosby said, explaining that spreading the word about the hall by word of mouth is a start toward gaining national attention.
People see it and tell their friends and they tell their friends, he said.
That means getting people in here from beyond just the Shenango Valley, he said, noting that he is hoping to attract visitors from the Youngstown and Warren areas this weekend.
The hall and museum are dedicated to honoring vocal music groups from the earliest inception of the strictly American form of music shortly after the turn of the century into the 1980s.
The Pop Music Building, which houses most of the memorabilia and the hall of fame, was open last weekend and Crosby said the Barbershop Building, directly across the street, will also be open this Saturday and Sunday from noon to 8 p.m.
Free admission is offered to the Pop Music Building from 4 to 8 p.m. through Friday and to both buildings from noon to 8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
