B & amp;O deal approved
YOUNGSTOWN -- The city's board of control approved a lease-purchase deal Friday for the B & amp;O Station with local businessman William Marsteller.
Marsteller will rent space to a microbrewery, the Ohio Brewing Co., and a restaurant. Renovations are to start Monday and the restaurant and brewery are scheduled to open June 7, said Jeffrey L. Chagnot, city development director.
The city and developer agreed to the concept last fall, but it's taken months to work out the contract, Chagnot said.
The deal includes the developer's forfeiting $200,000 to the city if he doesn't fulfill regular investment goals and other contract provisions.
Suit filed over tower
YOUNGSTOWN -- Ellsworth Township trustees and zoning officials filed a lawsuit Friday in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court, seeking to block VoiceStream Wireless from constructing a telecommunication tower on property along Knauf Road. Township officials say the tower would violate the township's zoning code.
