MAHONING COUNTY Jury indicts 3 men in slayings

The grand jury also issued secret indictments for murder.

YOUNGSTOWN -- A Mahoning County grand jury indicted three city men Thursday on charges stemming from two separate killings.
Freddie Lewis, 19, of Victoria Street, was indicted on charges of aggravated murder and aggravated robbery. Each charge carries a firearm specification, meaning a gun was used to commit the crimes.
Police say Lewis shot 21-year-old Justin Treasic of Logan Avenue. Treasic was found Feb. 21 in an open field at Ada Street and Poplar Avenue with gunshot wounds to his head and left arm. He died the next day at St. Elizabeth Health Center.
Lewis intended to rob Treasic while buying marijuana from him, police said. Treasic was killed when the robbery went awry.
Others indicted: Also indicted were 24-year-old Eddie Bryant of Cohasset Drive and 23-year-old Armin D. Moore of Kendis Circle. Each faces one count of murder and a firearm specification in the March 19 death of Stephen Shackleford, 29, of McBride Street.
Witnesses told police Shackleford had been chased from his home by two men who were shooting at him.
Shackleford was found lying in the street a few feet from his home in the Youngstown Metropolitan Housing Authority's Victory Annex complex on the East Side.
The grand jury also issued secret indictments against two people on murder and firearm specifications, one person on charges of aggravated murder, aggravated robbery, illegal possession of weapons and two firearm specifications, and one person on two counts of complicity to kidnapping.
The identities of those secretly indicted won't be made public until after they are arrested and served with their indictments.
