Deputy sheriff cited in crash

YOUNGSTOWN -- Mahoning County Deputy Sheriff Patrick J. Mondora was cited for failing to obey a traffic control device after his cruiser collided with an unmarked Boardman police car, city police said.
The crash occurred at Fifth Avenue and Commerce Street when Mondora failed to stop for a red light at about 2 p.m. Friday, a city police report says.
As the 1997 Ford Crown Victoria cruiser Mondora was driving passed through the intersection, it was struck by an unmarked 1996 Chevy Lumina driven by Nick C. Levinsky, a Boardman Township police officer.
Both vehicles were disabled, the report says. The officers were slightly injured.
