BROOKFIELD -- A 15-year-old Sharon girl told police she was walking on Davis Street Sunday afternoon when a man in a newer black car pulled up and asked how to get to Sharon.
The girl pointed east, and the man starting taking pictures of her with a digital camera.
The girl then noticed the man was naked.
He thanked her and drove away, turning onto Syne Street.
The girl described him as a white man, in his 30s, who is either bald or has a shaved head.
The rear license plate was obscured, the girl said.
Robbery in Warren
WARREN -- Police are investigating an aggravated robbery at Eli's Barbecue.
An employee told police a man came into the restaurant at 1409 Niles Road with a gun Friday and took the cash register. No further information was available this morning.
Police are also looking into a report that someone broke into the recently closed Central Cafe on East Market Street.
'Adopt-a-tree' program
GIRARD -- In recognition of Arbor Day, the Girard Tree Board and Recreation Department have announced an "adopt-a-tree" program.
Trees may be bought in the name of the buyer, a family member or a loved one, or for a club or organization.
A check for $50 can be sent to Girard Recreation Foundation at the auditor's office at City Hall,100 W. Main St. Include a note indicating the names, phone numbers and preferred location.
The first 25 trees will be shade trees planted at the Tod Park baseball fields.
Other sites include city lots at North State and West Kline streets, Liberty Park, Stambaugh Park and other Tod Park sites.
A plaque will be erected at each site naming the honorees. The tree board meets April 11 at 4 p.m. in city hall. New members are welcome.
Kidnapping attempt
YOUNGSTOWN -- The driver of a van tried to lure an 11-year-old girl into the vehicle as she walked home from school on the South Side, police reports show.
The girl's uncle told officers she was walking to her West Dewey Avenue home around 1:45 p.m. Friday when a man in a burgundy Ford Windstar tried to get her to get in.
Missing teen sought
NEW CASTLE, Pa. -- Shenango Township Police are searching for a 17-year-old who disappeared from the Comfort Inn Hotel.
Police said Terrace Heaney, a West Virginia native, disappeared March 7 after walking out of the hotel with his belongings.
Heaney is described as white, about 5 feet 2 inches tall and 120 pounds.
He was wearing a blue sweatshirt, jeans and a gray or silver jacket.
Audio visual tour
SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. -- Explore Slippery Rock Creek from its headwaters to the confluence at Connoquenessing Creek through an audio visual tour at the Jennings Environmental Education Center at 2 p.m. April 7.
The Slippery Rock Watershed drains an area of more than 800 square miles and spans four counties. It contains some of the most scenic and geologically interesting areas of the state, including various waterfalls and a 400-foot deep ravine.
Jennings is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays and on weekends as scheduled. The trails are open daily from sunrise to sunset for hiking and other environmentally related activities.
