New Castle man charged in shooting

NEW CASTLE, Pa. -- One man is charged and police are searching for others in a shooting on the city's south side.
No one was injured, but police said shots were fired at about 7:58 p.m. Saturday.
Police charged Donald Weaver, 39, of Galbreath Avenue with disorderly conduct and discharging a firearm in city limits. Police said Galbreath told them he received a threatening telephone call at his home from an unidentified man who claimed Galbreath owed him money.
The caller said he would come to Galbreath's house and shoot at it if the money wasn't paid, Galbreath told police. Galbreath told police that soon after he got off the telephone he heard gunshots coming from a passing vehicle outside his house.
Galbreath shot back, police said. They also said they don't know the make of the vehicle or how many people were inside. Neighbors called for help when the shooting started. A man inside the house with Galbreath during the shooting does not face charges, police said.
