DENVER -- The rivalry between Detroit and Colorado took an ugly turn when every player on the ice squared off during a fight in the third period. Roy jumped on Maltby after the collision and hit him several times while both players were lying in the net. A scrum broke out in front of the net, then Detroit goalie Dominik Hasek jumped into the fray a few seconds later. The teams combined for 16 penalty minutes in the sequence, with Detroit getting nine minutes. It got rough again late in the third period. Mike Keane ran into Hasek with 4:11 remaining and was knocked to the ice as he tried to get up.
