JLY plans brunch, style show



Proceeds will support community service projects.
BOARDMAN -- Mr. Anthony's will be the setting April 17 for the second annual champagne brunch and fashion show to be sponsored by the Junior League of Youngstown.
The event will begin at 9 a.m. with a Chinese auction and raffle followed by a brunch at 10:45.
Raffle tickets will be five for $5 and will entitle participants to chances for a grand prize of two season subscriptions to the Masterworks Series presented by the Youngstown Symphony Orchestra and to a variety of prizes donated by area businesses.
The style show will feature the latest in spring fashions, hairstyling and makeup.

Proceeds will benefit the Children's Museum of Youngstown, the You've Got a Friend program, which provides assistance to mothers undergoing cancer treatment, and the Board Marketplace program, which matches candidates with community boards.
Carrie Velasquez and Sharon Velasquez are co-chairmen of the fashion show committee. They are being assisted by Christy Berlin, Nichole Cannon, Bethany Economus, Patti Keenan, Jo Ellen Kieffer, Jennifer Johnson, Rae Lackner, Andrea Linnelli, Deborah Profanchik, Kathy Soule, Fran Curd and JoAnn Stock.
The group: The JLY is an organization of women committed to promoting volunteerism, developing the potential of women and improving communities through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers.
