Man charged with murder held on bond

YOUNGSTOWN -- A 24-year-old South Side man is being held in lieu of $1 million bail after arraignment in Youngstown Municipal Court on a murder charge.
Eddie D. Bryant of Cohasset Drive is accused of killing 29-year-old Stephen Shackleford Tuesday afternoon outside Shackleford's McBride Street home on the city's East Side.
Bryant appeared in court Friday after turning himself in to police upon hearing that there was a warrant issued for his arrest.
Assistant City Prosecutor Ben Joltin had requested the bond, saying that Bryant and three other men had shot Shackleford and then came into close range of him to deliver the fatal gunshot.
Joltin also suggested that witnesses would be in danger if Bryant is released.
Judge Robert P. Milich, who ordered the bond, also appointed an attorney to represent Bryant.
Defense attorney Ed Carson argued against the bond because Bryant had turned himself in and was willing to face the charges.
City police continue to seek three other men accused of involvement in the murder.
They are Lorice Moore, 24, who is wanted on a murder warrant; and Armin Moore, 23, and Calvin Moore, 30, who are both wanted on warrants accusing them of complicity to commit murder.
