Christianity's Holy Week begins on Palm Sunday and ends on Easter. But other religions are observing holy days this month, including:
Passover: Begins at dusk Thursday and runs through April 4. It observes the Israelites' departure from slavery in Egypt.
Ashura: Commemorates the martyrdom of Husain, the grandson of the Prophet Mohammed, in 680 A.D.
Naw-R & uacute;z: Bah & aacute;' & iacute;s observe annual cycle of renewal with Naw-R & uacute;z or New Year's, on the first day of spring, that in the West was celebrated Wednesday. Zoroastrians celebrate New Year's the same day. Under different calendars, Sikhs may observe New Year's Day on March 14 or March 29.
Holi: Also called the Festival of Color, it observes the victory of good over evil and the advent of spring, on Thursday.
