CANFIELD -- Entry information for fine arts, arts and crafts and floral arts at the 2002 Canfield Fair will be mailed by mid-April.
To be included in the mailing, prospective entrants must notify fair personnel by April 1. Call, (330) 533-4107 or send mailing addresses via e-mail to: cfrooster@aol.com, or via the U.S. Postal Service to: Canfield Fair, P.O. Box 250, Canfield, OH 44406.
A variety of contests are open to students ages 5 to 17 and adults in both amateur and professional categories; entrants need not reside in Mahoning County.
New categories this year in the Arts and Crafts department include a category for red, white and blue, candlewicking, trim-a-tree garland, scrapbooking, homemade soap and translucent ceramics. A contest using pumpkin and a Pillsbury baking contest have also been added.
This year's theme in the Floral and Fine Arts building is "Color Our World." Contests are open in fine art, photography, porcelain painting, floral arranging, and specimen flowers and plants.
A mystery bag contest requires participants to create a work of art during the fair and a shutter bug contest requires contestants to photograph the fair.
To receive entry forms and rules after April 1, prospective entrants must send a self-addressed envelope with required postage to the fair office.
