COLUMBIANA CORNER More flexible hours at three municipal courts

Anyone needing do business with Columbiana County's three municipal courts will find the hours more flexible.
Municipal Court Judge Mark Frost said last week that the court buildings in Lisbon, Salem and East Palestine have abandoned a longtime policy of being closed from noon to 1 p.m. so court staff could go to lunch.
Judge Frost said that he and municipal Court Judge Robert Roberts determined that the lunch-time closure was inconvenient for many people who have business with the court and who try to do it during their lunch break only to find the courts locked.
Staff members now stagger their lunch breaks so the courts remain open throughout the day.
Teaching responsibility: In a recent East Palestine Schools district newsletter, school officials issued a gentle reminder to parents that responsibility is learned through experience. Directing parents to fill out and return a form for kindergarten registration, school officials said parents could mail in the form, drop it off at the school or "send it to school with your most reliable child"
