PENNSYLVANIA State police head promotes many troopers to corporal



HARRISBURG -- Pennsylvania State Police Commissioner Paul J. Evanko promoted 21 members of the department to the rank of corporal during ceremonies at the State Police Academy in Hershey on Friday.
Following is a list of the new local corporals, their previous assignments, new assignments, and their year of enlistment:
UJames R. Burger of Butler, Butler County; Troop D, Butler; Troop M, Dublin; 1986.
UJudith A. Burroughs of Cabot, Butler County; will remain with Bureau of Professional Responsibility; 1993.
UDavid M. Gluth of Corry, Erie County; will remain with Troop E, Erie, 1991.
UDavid F. Lash of Conneaut Lake, Crawford County; Troop E, Meadville; Troop J, Avondale; 1975.
URoger P. Ohl of Sarver, Butler County; Troop M, Dublin; Troop M, Belfast; 1982.
UScott A. Patterson of Fredonia, Mercer County, will remain with Troop D, Butler; 1980.
UGary L. Thompson Jr. of Butler, Butler County; Troop D, Butler; Troop B, Uniontown; 1991.
The promotions fill existing vacancies. State Police ranks are as follows: cadet, trooper, corporal, sergeant, lieutenant, captain, major, lieutenant colonel and colonel.
