Ulster Project seeks host families for teen students

YOUNGSTOWN -- Families with teens are wanted as hosts for teen students from Northern Ireland this summer.
The Mahoning Valley Ulster Project 2002, the local part of a national program, will bring 12 teen-agers here from the Belfast area from June 26 to July 27.
Host teen-agers should be between the ages of 14 and 17; six males and six females are needed, with an equal number of Protestants and Catholics. The Northern Ireland students will be paired with teens who have common interests and the same religious background as much as possible. The students will be with the same host family for the duration of their stay.
The Northern Ireland teens were chosen by teachers and clergy. The hosts are usually recommended by clergy or previous participants, or have participated before. While here, the teens and their hosts participate in a month of activites including a unity building activity, dances, service projects, and a trip to Cedar Point in Sandusky.
Families interested in being hosts this summer should contact Lori Neill, the host family chairperson, at (330) 782-7065
