Two women assault cop at bus station
YOUNGSTOWN -- A Mahoning County deputy sheriff was assaulted by two women at the Western Reserve Transit Authority bus station while he was working security Wednesday evening.
Police reports state that the deputy tried to break up an argument between two women, telling them to go their separate ways, when one of them began swearing at him and refused to leave.
After the officer warned the woman that she would be arrested if she did not comply, the woman punched the officer in the shoulder. He responded by taking her to the ground and trying to handcuff her.
At that point, the report said, the woman's sister attacked the officer, punching him several times in the back.
The officer also took that woman to the ground and tried handcuffing her but she continued to fight. He succeeded in handcuffing her after spraying her with a spray repellent. By this time, the first woman had run away.
