Fund-raiser to feature 2 Steelers, benefit Hubbard cancer patient

HUBBARD -- A fund-raising event for cancer patient Denise Sonnenlitter will be from 6 to 11 p.m. Saturday at St. Patrick's Church Hall.
Sonnenlitter, 25, a 1995 graduate of Hubbard High School, has been involved with various organizations and schools and choreographed plays, shows and majorette performances.
Carolyn Marwood, a benefit coordinator, said Sonnenlitter had left one job and went to work at a new job, but was not eligible for health insurance when her cancer was diagnosed.
Her April 6 marriage to fianc & eacute;e Jeff Mikesell has been postponed, Marwood said.
She has had a kidney and a portion of her liver removed and is undergoing additional treatment.
R.J. Bowers, a member of the Pittsburgh Steelers, and Jon Kolb, who played for the team from 1969-81, will attend the event and sign autographs.
Other activities include the auctioning off an autographed 1970s Steelers' limited edition print, caricature drawings, a performance by J & amp;J Dancing Depot, bake sale, silent auction, 50-50 raffle, lottery giveaways and deejay John Angelo. Donations for the event are $5 for adults and $1 for children ages 6 and under.
