Summary of police activity:
CANFIELD
March 5
Theft: Two juveniles were seen tampering with coin machines at the Super Wash, 44 Cardinal Drive. Twenty-four air fresheners valued at $1 each and eight bottles of the product Armor-All valued at $2 each were stolen, but no money was taken. Two juveniles were observed using a hammer to break open the machines, but they fled before police arrived.
AUSTINTOWN
March 3
Theft: Police arrested a man on charges of stealing disposable cameras at Phar-Mor, 4755 Mahoning Ave.
Theft: Police arrested two men on charges of stealing alcohol at Giant Eagle, 5220 Mahoning Ave.
Criminal damage: Someone damaged windows on a 1978 Ford F-150 pickup truck at Penske Truck Rental, 350 Victoria Road.
Auto theft: A 1990 Buick Park Avenue was stolen from Hillbrook Apartments, 544 S. Raccoon Road.
Theft: A compact disc, AM-FM radio was taken from a vehicle in the residential 60 block of Westminster Avenue.
March 4
Breaking and entering: Construction equipment was stolen from a home being built in the 3000 block of Starwick Drive.
Drug offense: Police recovered suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia after a search at an apartment in the 4000 block of Deer Creek Drive.
March 5
Attempted theft: Two men tried to steal an auto and also tried to take the vehicle's stereo. The vehicle was parked in the residential 1000 block of Laurie Drive.
Criminal damage: Someone broke the windshield on a vehicle in the residential 2000 block of Innwood Drive.
Theft: A man took prescription pills from a residence in the 1000 block of South Raccoon Road.
March 6
Theft: A checkbook was taken from a residence in the 100 block of North Kimberly Drive.
Criminal damage: Someone used a rock to damage a vehicle windshield in the 3000 block of Staatz Drive.
Theft: A purse was stolen from an unlocked vehicle at the Motel 6, 5431 Seventy-Six Drive.
Theft: A compact disc was stolen from a vehicle at King Kar Motors, 4120 Mahoning Ave.
March 7
Arrest: Police arrested a man on weapons and drug-abuse charges.
Theft: A stereo and compact disc player were stolen from the 1000 block of Compass West apartments.
Criminal damage: A vehicle tire was cut on an auto parked in the 3000 block of Riblet Avenue.
Theft: DVDs were taken at the Pilot service station, 1150 N. Canfield-Niles Road.
Theft: A leaf blower was not returned at Valley Power, 3645 Mahoning Ave.
Theft: A citizens band radio was stolen from a vehicle at the Days Inn, Seventy-Six Drive.
March 8
Auto theft: A 1993 Buick LeSabre was stolen from Wedgewood Lanes parking lot, 1741 S. Raccoon Road.
Theft: Stereo equipment and compact discs were stolen and the ignition was damaged on a vehicle parked in the residential 70 block of Rosemont Avenue.
Breaking and entering: A vehicle was damaged and various items stolen. The vehicle was parked in the residential 1000 block of Collins Street.
Theft: A Zenith television was stolen from the 300 block of Monaca Avenue.
Theft: Two separate cases of theft from automobile were reported in the 1000 block of Burr Oaks Court.
Criminal damage: Windows were broken in a residence in the 500 block of Purdue Avenue.
March 9
Criminal damage: The front and back of a vehicle were damaged by BB gun pellets in the residential 4000 block of Staatz Drive.
Theft: Police arrested a man in the theft of $435 worth of Nicorette gum from Wal-Mart, 6001 Mahoning Ave.
