LIBERTY Ex-mayor hired by township



Patrick J. Ungaro will be paid $59,000 annually as Liberty Township administrator.
LIBERTY -- Former Youngstown Mayor Patrick J. Ungaro has been hired as the township's new administrator.
The action was taken Monday by township trustees. He replaces Darlene St. George, who takes over as Howland Township's administrator next week.
Township trustees hired Ungaro at an annual salary of $59,000 and four weeks' vacation. He takes over as administrator June 3. Residency is a requirement.
He is assistant principal at Youngstown's West Elementary School.
Ungaro served as Youngstown's 3rd Ward councilman from 1976 to 1981 and then as mayor for 14 years.
Ungaro said he is eager to work with township trustees in the area of economic development.
