CLEVELAND -- Because of recent bad weather and the flu, turnout at American Red Cross blood drives has been low. As a result, there is an immediate need in the Northeastern Ohio Blood Services Region for blood types O negative, B negative, and A negative.
The Northern Ohio Region serves 61 hospitals in 19 counties. To make an appointment to donate blood, call (800) GIVE-LIFE.
Environmental issues
YOUNGSTOWN -- "The Citizens' Bioregional Plan for Northeast Ohio" is the topic for David Beach, director of EcoCity Cleveland, at 7 p.m. Monday in the Park Vista North Lounge, 1310 Fifth Ave.
The group is concerned about urban and environmental issues and promotes sustainable ways to meet human needs for food, shelter, work and stable communities. The presentation is sponsored by the League of Women Voters of Greater Youngstown.
Easter bunny's coming
YOUNGSTOWN -- From noon to 4 p.m. March 23-24, the Easter bunny will visit all Youngstown-area PetsMart stores to take photos with his furry, feathered and finned friends. Photo packages are $6.95, and all proceeds will go to PetsMart charities.
