Reimbursed for trees

Reimbursed for trees
CANFIELD -- Streamside landowners in the Mill Creek and Yellow Creek watersheds may be reimbursed for 75 percent of the cost of qualifying trees they buy and plant along waterways.
The trees, which help reduce erosion and provide shade, must be ordered by April 12 from the Mahoning County Soil and Water Conservation District. Call Heather Moser at (330) 533-2231 for more information.
Landowners should submit a sketch of the proposed plantings with their orders. The program is funded by an Ohio EPA grant. Qualifying trees are button bush, pussy willow, arborvitae, river birch, swamp white oak and red osier dogwood.
