MELINDA HANZELYGEORGE WINSEN
BOARDMAN -- Nuptial vows were exchanged at 2 p.m. Feb. 16 as Melinda Hanzely, Tippecanoe Road, Canfield, and George Winsen, West Hopewell Drive, Struthers, were united in marriage at St. James Meeting House.
Judge James Evans presided at the wedding for the daughter of Dr. Stephen and Brigitta Hanzely, Hunters Hill, Poland, and the son of Tom and Bernadette Winsen, West Harvey Street, Struthers.
After a reception at St. Mary Assumption Social Center, Youngstown, the couple left on a wedding trip to the Riviera Maya.
They live in Canfield.
The bride's white Italian satin halter-style gown was embellished with embroidery and beading and featured a box-pleated skirt.
The honor attendant was Erika Hanzely-Layko, a sister of the bride, and attendants were Carmel Massarelli, Janet Malina and Colleen Cardiero. Flower girl was Rachel Layko, the bride's niece.
Thomas Winsen was his brother's best man, and ushers were Mark Evan and the bride's brother-in-law, Michael Layko. Her nephew, Benjamin Layko, was ring bearer.
The bride, a speech pathologist with Youngstown Hearing and Speech Center in Boardman, graduated from Kent State University.The groom graduated from Youngstown State University and is an administrator with Mahoning County Mental Retardation and Developmentally Disabled in Austintown.
