Volunteer firefighters sue man

LISBON -- Two volunteer firefighters are suing a Wellsville man, saying they were burned in a fire caused by his negligence.
Alan Glover and Shawn Glover, brothers living at 18088 McCormick Road, Salineville, filed the lawsuit earlier this week in Columbiana County common pleas court.
The lawsuit accuses Ralph Samberson of 18274 Nicholson Road, Wellsville, of negligently burning brush on his property March 8, 2000, when he knew, or should have known, that an uncontrollable fire would result.
A brush fire did break out, and the Glovers were among the members of the Highlandtown Fire Department called to fight the fire.
While on the scene, the brothers were burned when wind carried flames into the truck on which they were riding.
Both men were severely burned, the lawsuit states.
They're each seeking a judgment in excess of $25,000.
The case is assigned to Judge David Tobin. Samberson was unavailable for comment.
