FASHION Q & amp;A

Q. All my fashion magazines are showing lots of floral prints for spring. I just can't see wearing something like that in my rather conservative office. Is there a way to incorporate the floral-print trend into my work wardrobe and still look businesslike?
A. The key is contrast -- and scale.
To maintain an "I mean business" aura, contrast a playful, feminine element, such as a floral print, with clothing that is structured and serious-looking, such as a dark, tailored suit. Also, scale back on the prints, using them just as an accent.
You could team a floral-print shell with a business suit, for example, or a floral-print scarf with a tailored dress. But reserve those flowery skirts, pants and blazers for the weekend.
Q. I will be attending my grandson's wedding in San Diego at the end of April. The wedding will be held outside by the bay in the middle of the afternoon. What should I wear?
A. An ideal choice would be a dressy-casual outfit, such as a spring suit with a soft shell or blouse, a dress with a jacket or a skirt with a sweater set.
At the end of April, the weather in Southern California should be dry, sunny and fairly warm, so a lightweight outfit would be appropriate -- something in linen or silk, perhaps, and in a pretty springtime color. But it might be breezy near the bay, which means a jacket or cardigan could come in handy.
Complete the outfit with heeled sandals or sling-back pumps.
