AUSTINTOWN -- The Mahoning County Sheriff's Department will have a traffic enforcement sweep this weekend at an area known for its high rate of drunken drivers.
Maj. Michael Budd said 21 officers and about 12 cruisers will be in a 2-mile radius of Mahoning Avenue and state Route 46 to enforce driving under the influence, speeding and seat-belt laws from 8 p.m. Friday to 4 a.m. Saturday.
Park roads will close
YOUNGSTOWN -- All Mill Creek Park roads running north and south from Slippery Rock Bridge to Canfield Road will be closed to traffic from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday for the running of the Youngstown Road Runners Distance Classic. Price Road, Old Furnace Road and Canfield Road will remain open, but delays are possible.
