DIVISION II
Who: Howland (22-2) vs. Cleveland East Tech (21-1).
When: Today, 6:15 p.m.
Where: Copley High School.
If you go: Take Interstate 76 west into Akron to I-77 north. Proceed to Copley Road exit. Go west on Copley Road to Cleveland-Massillon Road. Turn right onto Cleveland-Massillon Road. Proceed to first blinking light (Ridgewood Road). Turn left onto Ridgewood Road and proceed to high school.
Site change: The game was moved this morning from Barberton High because a case of bacterial meningitis was discovered at the school. If Howland wins tonight, Friday's district championship game will be played at Massillon Perry High School.
Notebook: Howland is coming off a 50-42 victory over West Branch in the district championship game, which it won for the second straight season but first in Div. II. The Tigers gained inspiration from junior Michelle Rura, who scored a season-high 13 points despite limited playing time earlier this season due to a knee ailment. East Tech, which defeated Bay Village 59-29, is playing in its fourth straight regional but first in Div. II as well. Senior Barbara Turner, bound for Connecticut, had 17 points, 11 rebounds and four blocks. In the other semifinal, Perry (22-1) faces Cuyahoga Falls Walsh Jesuit (21-2).
DIVISION III
Who: Ursuline (18-5) vs. South Euclid Regina (19-5).
When: Wednesday, 6:15 p.m.
Where: Cuyahoga Falls High.
If you go: Take Interstate 76 west into Akron and merge onto Route 8 north. Exit at Portage Trail and turn left. Proceed to Fourth Street and turn right. Proceed to school.
Notebook: Ursuline is coming off a 59-54 victory over East Canton in the district championship game, which it won for the second straight season. Sophomore Courtney Davidson had a game-high 25 points and went over the 1,000-point mark for her career. The Irish are facing Regina in the regional for the third time in the past four seasons. Regina, two-time defending state champion, rolled into the regional after defeating Bedford Chanel 95-56. Senior Sarah Burgess is headed to South Carolina on a basketball scholarship, but she injured her knee against Chanel and is questionable against Ursuline. In the other semifinal, top-ranked Cleveland Villa Angela-St. Joseph (23-1) faces Doylestown Chippewa (22-1).
DIVISION IV
Who: Leetonia (18-5) vs. Windham (16-7).
When: Thursday, 8 p.m.
Where: Massillon Perry High.
If you go: Take state Route 14 west into Salem and pick up U.S. 62 west to Canton. Merge onto Interstate 77 south. Exit at Tuscarawas Street and merge onto Harrison Avenue N.W. Turn right onto state Route 172 toward Massillon. Travel three miles and turn left on Perry Road. Travel two blocks and turn right on 13th Street. Proceed to the school.
Notebook: Leetonia is coming off a 50-47 victory over Lowellville in the district championship game, which it won for the fourth straight season. Sophomore Jessica Deville scored a game-high 17 points for the Bears. Windham captured its first district title since the 1996-97 season with a 50-33 victory over Gilmour Academy. Senior Colleen McGuire, who has verbally committed to California University (Pa.), had 26 points and 10 rebounds. In the other semifinal, Mansfield St. Peter's (23-0) faces Mogadore (17-6).
